Baked Butter Cookies Recipe
These traditional butter cookies are ideal for any occasion. They're quick and easy to make, with a deliciously soft texture that melts in your mouth.
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup white sugar
Time Needed
- Prep Time: 15 minutes
- Cook Time: 12 minutes
- Total Time: 27 minutes
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F.
- (175 degrees C).
- Cream the butter, white sugar, and brown sugar together in a large mixing bowl until smooth.
- Incorporate the egg and vanilla extract.
- Whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt in a separate bowl.
- Stir the dry ingredients into the butter mixture until well combined.
- Using a rounded teaspoon, drop onto ungreased cookie sheets.
- In a preheated oven, bake for 10 to 12 minutes, or until golden.
- Allow cookies to cool for 5 minutes on the baking sheet before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
