These Christmas Tree Butter Cookies are a festive and fun treat for the holiday season. The buttery cookie base has a vanilla extract flavour and is tinted green to look like Christmas trees. To make them even more festive, sprinkle them with various Christmas-themed sprinkles and decorations.

Instructions
- Cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Mix in the eggs and vanilla extract until well combined.
- Whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt in a separate bowl.
- Add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture gradually, mixing until fully incorporated.
- Add green food coloring to achieve the desired color.
- Combine thoroughly.
- Divide the dough into two equal parts and roll each out to about 1/4 inch thickness on a floured surface.
- Cut out the dough with a Christmas tree-shaped cookie cutter and place it on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake the cookies for 8-10 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden brown, in a preheated 350°F (175°C) oven.
- Remove the cookies from the oven and cool for 5 minutes on the baking sheet before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
- After the cookies have cooled, decorate them as desired with Christmas-themed sprinkles and decorations.
