Instructions

  • Cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar in a mixing bowl until light and fluffy.
  • Incorporate the egg and vanilla extract.
  • Whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt in a separate bowl.
  • Stir the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until completely combined.
  • Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and place it in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Roll the dough out to about 1/4 inch thickness on a lightly floured surface.
  • Using a cookie cutter, cut out snowflake shapes and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  • Bake for 10 to 12 minutes, or until the edges are set and the centres are firm.
