Homemade Christmas Cookies with Powdered Sugar Recipe

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (175 degrees Celsius).
  • Cream the butter and granulated sugar together in a large mixing bowl until light and fluffy.
  • Incorporate the egg and vanilla extract.
  • Whisk together the baking powder, flour, and salt in a separate bowl.
  • Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients gradually, mixing until just combined.
  • Make a ball of the dough and flatten it into a disc.
  • Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and place it in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
  • Roll out the chilled dough to a thickness of 1/4 inch.
  • Cut out desired shapes with cookie cutters.
  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and place the cookies on it.
  • Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown.
  • Allow the cookies to cool for 5 minutes on the baking sheet before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
  • Before serving, dust the cookies with powdered sugar.
