Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  • In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Mix in the molasses and egg until well combined.
  • Whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, ginger, cinnamon, cloves and nutmeg in a separate bowl.
  • Stir the dry ingredients into the butter mixture gradually until well combined.
  • Roll the dough into 1-inch balls and place them 2 inches apart on a greased baking sheet.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the mixture is set and lightly browned.
  • Cool for 5 minutes on the baking sheet before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
  • Melt chocolate chips and vegetable oil in a small saucepan over low heat until smooth, stirring constantly.
  • Place the cooled cookies on wax paper to set after dipping them halfway into the chocolate mixture.
