Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (175 degrees Celsius).
- Using parchment paper, line a baking sheet.
- Whisk together the flour, baking powder, ginger, cinnamon, cloves, and salt in a medium mixing bowl.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter and brown sugar until smooth.
- Incorporate the egg and molasses.
- Mix in the flour mixture gradually until completely combined.
- Roll the dough into 1-inch balls and space them 2 inches apart on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly browned.
- Allow the cookies to cool for 5 minutes on the baking sheet before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
- To make the icing, whisk together the confectioners' sugar, milk, and vanilla extract in a small bowl.
- When the cookies are cool enough to handle, drizzle the icing over the tops of each one and immediately sprinkle with the desired amount of sprinkles.
- Before serving the cookies, allow the icing to set.
