Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (175 degrees Celsius).
  • Using parchment paper, line a baking sheet.
  • Whisk together the flour, baking powder, ginger, cinnamon, cloves, and salt in a medium mixing bowl.
  • In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter and brown sugar until smooth.
  • Incorporate the egg and molasses.
  • Mix in the flour mixture gradually until completely combined.
  • Roll the dough into 1-inch balls and space them 2 inches apart on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly browned.
  • Allow the cookies to cool for 5 minutes on the baking sheet before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
  • To make the icing, whisk together the confectioners' sugar, milk, and vanilla extract in a small bowl.
  • When the cookies are cool enough to handle, drizzle the icing over the tops of each one and immediately sprinkle with the desired amount of sprinkles.
  • Before serving the cookies, allow the icing to set.
