Gingerbread Stars Recipe

These gingerbread stars are a holiday classic that everyone will enjoy. They're crunchy and spicy, and they're ideal for decorating with frosting and sprinkles.

Ingredients

  • Prep Time: 20 minutes
  • Cook Time: 10 minutes
  • Total Time: 30 minutes

Instructions

  • Cream the butter and brown sugar together in a large mixing bowl until light and fluffy.
  • Incorporate the eggs and molasses.
  • In a separate bowl, combine the flour, ginger, cinnamon, cloves, baking soda and salt.
  • Stir the dry ingredients into the creamed mixture gradually.
  • Cut the dough in half and form each half into a disc.
  • Refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight, wrapped in plastic wrap.
  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (180 degrees Celsius).
  • Roll out one disc of dough to 1/4 inch (6 mm) thickness on a lightly floured surface.
  • Cut out shapes with star-shaped cookie cutters and place them 2 inches (5 cm) apart on baking sheets.
  • Repeat with the rest of the dough.
  • 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly browned.
  • Cool down on wire racks.
