  • Total Time: 35 minutes

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Cream together the butter, powdered sugar, and almond extract in a large mixing bowl until light and fluffy.
  • Mix in the flour a little at a time until the dough comes together.
  • Add the chopped maraschino cherries and mix well.
  • Place the dough in 1-inch balls on an ungreased cookie sheet.
  • Press down lightly on each cookie with the tines of a fork to flatten slightly.
  • Cook for 12-15 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown.
  • Remove from the oven and cool for 5 minutes on the cookie sheet before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
