Homemade Gingersnap Cookies Recipe

  • Cook Time: 12 minutes
  • Total Time: 27 minutes

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (175 degrees Celsius).
  • In a medium mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, ginger and salt.
  • In a separate large mixing bowl, cream the butter and sugar with an electric mixer until light and fluffy, about 2 minutes.
  • Incorporate the egg and molasses until well combined.
  • Mix in the dry ingredients gradually until just combined.
  • Roll the dough into 1-inch balls and place them about 2 inches apart on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are firm and the centres are soft and puffy.
  • Remove from the oven and cool for 5 minutes on the baking sheet before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
