Gingerbread Anise Cookies Recipe

These Gingerbread Anise Cookies are ideal for the holidays or whenever you're in the mood for a spicy and sweet treat. Ginger, cinnamon, cloves, and anise give these cookies a warm and cosy flavour that is sure to please.

Ingredients

  • Cook Time: 12 minutes
  • Total Time: 32 minutes

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (175 degrees Celsius).
  • Using parchment paper, line a baking sheet.
  • Whisk together the flour, baking soda, ginger, cinnamon, cloves, anise and salt in a medium mixing bowl.
  • Using an electric mixer, beat the butter and brown sugar in a large mixing bowl until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
  • Beat in the molasses and egg until well combined.
  • Mix in the dry ingredients until just combined.
  • Roll the dough into balls with rounded tablespoons.
  • Place the balls on the prepared baking sheet, 2 inches apart.
  • Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the edges are crisp and the centres are soft.
  • Allow the cookies to cool for 5 minutes on the baking sheet before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
