Ingredients

Two large eggs
1 cup unsalted butter, softened
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup granulated sugar
3 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
Gel food coloring in various shades
Cookie cutter in the shape of a bear
2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Instructions

Cream the butter and sugar together in a large mixing bowl until light and fluffy.
Beat in the eggs and vanilla extract to the butter mixture.
Whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt in a separate bowl.
Gradually combine the dry and wet ingredients, mixing well after each addition.
Make two equal parts of the cookie dough.
Mix in one part of the food coloring gel until it is evenly colored.
Form each component into a disk, wrap in plastic wrap, and place in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C).
Roll out the chilled cookie dough to a 1/4-inch thickness on a lightly floured surface.
Cut out cookies with the bear-shaped cookie cutter and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Bake for 10 to 12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown.
Allow the cookies to cool for 5 minutes on the baking sheet before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Decorate the cookies with different colors of food coloring gel.
