Christmas Tree M&M Cookies Recipe

These festive Christmas tree M&M cookies are just in time for the holidays. The green dough and mini M&M candies give them the appearance of a miniature Christmas tree. Tinsel and ornaments are made with a simple powdered sugar glaze.

Ingredients

3 cups all-purpose flour
1-2 tablespoons milk
1 cup mini m&m candy
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 cup powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup unsalted butter, softened
1/2 teaspoon salt
Green food coloring

Cook Time: 12 minutes
Total Time: 42 minutes

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Cream the butter and sugar together in a large mixing bowl until light and fluffy.
Incorporate the vanilla extract and egg.
Whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt in a separate bowl.
Add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture gradually, mixing until just combined.
Mix in a few drops of green food coloring until the desired shade of green is obtained.
Fold in the miniature M&Ms.
Roll the dough into small balls and slightly flatten with your hand.
Arrange the cookies in the shape of a Christmas tree on the prepared baking sheet.
Bake for 10 to 12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown.
Allow to cool for 5 minutes on the baking sheet before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
To make a glaze, whisk together the powdered sugar and milk in a small bowl.
Drizzle the glaze over the cooled cookies in tinsel and ornament shapes.
