Double Chocolate Christmas Cookies Recipe
With a rich chocolate flavour and a festive appearance, these double chocolate cookies are ideal for Christmas. These cookies are made even more decadent by the addition of semisweet chocolate chips.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
Time Needed
- Prep Time: 15 minutes
- Cook Time: 15 minutes
- Total Time: 30 minutes
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F/175°C and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Cream together the butter and sugars in a large mixing bowl until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.
- Whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda and salt in a separate mixing bowl.
- Slowly incorporate the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, mixing only until combined.
- Incorporate the chocolate chips.
- Scoop tablespoon-sized dough balls onto the baking sheet.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the edges are firm but the centres are still soft.
- Allow the cookies to cool for 5 minutes on the baking sheet before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
