Homemade Biscuit Cookies Recipe

Ingredients

  • Cook Time: 15 minutes
  • Total Time: 35 minutes

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Whisk together the flour, sugar, and salt in a large mixing bowl.
  • Mix in the butter with a pastry cutter or your fingers until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  • Whisk together the egg yolk, cold water, and vanilla extract in a separate bowl.
  • Stir the egg mixture into the flour mixture until just combined.
  • Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and form it into a disc.
  • Chill for at least 30 minutes in the refrigerator.
  • Roll out the chilled dough to 1/4 inch thickness on a floured surface.
  • Cut out shapes from the dough with cookie cutters and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • 12-15 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
  • Remove from the oven and cool for a few minutes on the baking sheet before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
