Petit Beurre Biscuits Recipe
Petit Beurre Biscuits are a traditional French biscuit made with butter and sugar that go great with tea or coffee. They have a crisp texture and a buttery flavor, and they are simple to prepare at home.
Ingredients
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 80g granulated sugar
- 1 egg
- 200g all-purpose flour
- 100g softened unsalted butter

Instructions
- Cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar in a large mixing bowl until light and fluffy.
- In the mixing bowl, combine the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.
- Mix in the all-purpose flour and salt until a dough forms in the mixing bowl.
- Refrigerate the dough for at least 30 minutes after shaping it into a rectangle and wrapping it in plastic wrap.
- Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius (350 degrees Fahrenheit).
- Roll out the dough to a thickness of about 3mm on a floured surface.
- Cut the dough into small rectangles or any shape you like.
- Place the cut-out dough on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, and prick each biscuit with a fork.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until golden brown around the edges.
- Remove the biscuits from the oven and cool for 5 minutes on the baking sheet before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
