Petit Beurre Biscuits Recipe

Petit Beurre Biscuits are a traditional French biscuit made with butter and sugar that go great with tea or coffee. They have a crisp texture and a buttery flavor, and they are simple to prepare at home.

Ingredients

Time Needed

  • Prep Time: 15 minutes
  • Cook Time: 10 minutes
  • Total Time: 25 minutes

Instructions

  • Cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar in a large mixing bowl until light and fluffy.
  • In the mixing bowl, combine the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.
  • Mix in the all-purpose flour and salt until a dough forms in the mixing bowl.
  • Refrigerate the dough for at least 30 minutes after shaping it into a rectangle and wrapping it in plastic wrap.
  • Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius (350 degrees Fahrenheit).
  • Roll out the dough to a thickness of about 3mm on a floured surface.
  • Cut the dough into small rectangles or any shape you like.
  • Place the cut-out dough on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, and prick each biscuit with a fork.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until golden brown around the edges.
  • Remove the biscuits from the oven and cool for 5 minutes on the baking sheet before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
