Butter Cookies with Sugar Recipe
These butter cookies with sugar are ideal for any occasion. They're simple to make and have a delectably buttery flavour with a hint of sweetness. Serve them as an afternoon snack with a cup of tea or coffee, or bring them to a party and watch them disappear.
Ingredients
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

- Prep Time: 20 minutes
- Cook Time: 15 minutes
- Total Time: 35 minutes
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (175 degrees Celsius).
- Cream the butter and sugar together in a large mixing bowl until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.
- In a separate bowl, combine the flour and salt.
- Add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture gradually, mixing until just combined.
- Form the dough into 1-inch balls and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and cool for 5 minutes on the baking sheet before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
