Austrian Jam Thumbprint Cookies Recipe

Thumbprint Cookies with Austrian Jam are buttery and crumbly cookies filled with your favourite fruit jam. They're ideal for a sweet treat or to share with friends and family.

Ingredients

Time Needed

  • Prep Time: 15 minutes
  • Cook Time: 15 minutes
  • Total Time: 30 minutes

Instructions

  • In a mixing bowl, combine the butter, sugar, and vanilla extract.
  • Mix in the flour and salt until well combined.
  • Make small balls of dough and place them on a baking sheet.
  • Make an indentation in the centre of each ball with your thumb or a small spoon.
  • Fill each indentation with approximately 1/2 teaspoon jam.
  • Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until lightly golden brown, in a 350°F (175°C) oven.
  • Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
