These Salted Gingerbread Cookies are a delectable take on a traditional holiday treat. The sea salt adds a savoury note that perfectly balances the sweetness of the molasses and spices.

  • Cook Time: 12 minutes
  • Total Time: 27 minutes

Instructions

  • Cream together the butter and brown sugar in a large mixing bowl until light and fluffy.
  • Mix in the molasses and egg.
  • Whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, ginger, cinnamon and cloves in a separate bowl.
  • Stir the flour mixture into the butter mixture until well combined.
  • Refrigerate the dough for at least 1 hour.
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C).
  • Roll the dough into 1-inch balls and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Sprinkle a pinch of sea salt on top of each ball.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are set and the centres are soft.
  • Allow cookies to cool for 5 minutes on the baking sheet before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
