Soft Oatmeal Cookies Recipe
These soft oatmeal cookies are a delicious classic that everyone will enjoy. They're full of healthy oats and have the perfect balance of sweetness and warmth. Enjoy them for breakfast, dessert or whenever you want.
Ingredients
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 1/2 cups rolled oats (old-fashioned)

- Cook Time: 10 minutes
- Total Time: 30 minutes
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar in a large mixing bowl until light and fluffy.
- Mix in the egg and vanilla extract until thoroughly combined.
- Whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt in a separate mixing bowl.
- Slowly incorporate the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients, mixing only until combined.
- Fold the rolled oats into the dough until they are evenly distributed.
- Portion the dough into 1 1/2-inch balls with a cookie scoop or spoon and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 10 to 12 minutes, or until the edges are golden.
- Remove from the oven and cool for 5 minutes on the baking sheet before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
