Shortbread Cookies with Powdered Sugar Recipe

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Cream butter and powdered sugar together in a mixing bowl until light and fluffy.
  • In a separate bowl, combine the flour and salt.
  • Mix in the flour mixture gradually with the butter mixture.
  • On a floured surface, roll out the dough to 1/4-inch thickness.
  • Using cookie cutters, cut the dough into desired shapes and place them on an ungreased baking sheet.
  • Preheat the oven to 12-15 minutes, or until the edges are lightly browned.
  • Remove from oven and cool for 5 minutes on the baking sheet before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
  • Before serving, dust the cookies with powdered sugar.
