Swirl Butter Cookies Recipe

  • Cook Time: 15 minutes
  • Total Time: 1 hour

Instructions

  • Cream the butter and sugar together in a large mixing bowl until light and fluffy.
  • Mix in the egg and vanilla extract until thoroughly combined.
  • Mix in the flour and salt until just combined.
  • Mix the red sprinkles into one half of the dough and the green sprinkles into the other.
  • Roll each dough log into a log and place it side by side.
  • Twist the two logs together to create a swirl effect.
  • Refrigerate the dough logs for at least 30 minutes, wrapped in plastic wrap.
  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Place the dough on the prepared baking sheet in 1/4 inch thick rounds.
  • Cook for 12-15 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown.
  • Allow the cookies to cool for 5 minutes on the baking sheet before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
