Swirl Butter Cookies Recipe
With red and green sprinkles swirled throughout, these Swirl Butter Cookies are not only delicious but also fun and festive. They are ideal for holiday baking or any other time of year.
Ingredients
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup sprinkles (red and green)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/4 tsp salt

- Prep Time: 45 minutes
- Cook Time: 15 minutes
- Total Time: 1 hour
Instructions
- Cream the butter and sugar together in a large mixing bowl until light and fluffy.
- Mix in the egg and vanilla extract until thoroughly combined.
- Mix in the flour and salt until just combined.
- Mix the red sprinkles into one half of the dough and the green sprinkles into the other.
- Roll each dough log into a log and place it side by side.
- Twist the two logs together to create a swirl effect.
- Refrigerate the dough logs for at least 30 minutes, wrapped in plastic wrap.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Place the dough on the prepared baking sheet in 1/4 inch thick rounds.
- Cook for 12-15 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown.
- Allow the cookies to cool for 5 minutes on the baking sheet before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
