Chocolate Chip Butter Cookies Recipe

Ingredients

• 1 cup granulated sugar
• 1 teaspoon baking soda
• 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
• 2 cups all-purpose flour
• 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
• 1/2 teaspoon salt
• 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened

Time Needed

• Prep Time: 20 minutes
• Cook Time: 10 minutes
• Total Time: 30 minutes

Instructions

• Preheat the oven to 375° F.
• (190 degrees C).
• Cream the butter and sugar together in a large mixing bowl until light and fluffy.
• Mix in the egg and vanilla extract.
• Whisk together the flour, baking soda and salt in a separate bowl.
• Add the dry ingredients to the creamed mixture gradually, mixing until just combined.
• Add the chocolate chips and mix well.
• Drop the dough by tablespoons onto ungreased baking sheets, about 2 inches apart.
• Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until the top is lightly golden brown.
• Allow to cool for 5 minutes on the baking sheets before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
