Inside Out Chocolate Chip Cookies Recipe

Inside out chocolate chip cookies are a unique take on the classic chocolate chip cookie. Instead of being on the outside, the chocolate chips are mixed in with the cocoa powder to make a delicious chocolate cookie with bursts of chocolate throughout.

Ingredients

• 1/4 tsp salt
• 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
• 1/2 cup brown sugar
• 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
• 1 and 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
• 1/2 cup unsalted butter, room temp
• 1/4 tsp baking soda
• 1/2 cup granulated sugar
• 1/2 cup cocoa powder

Time Needed

• Prep Time: 20 minutes
• Cook Time: 15 minutes
• Total Time: 35 minutes

Instructions

• Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
• In a medium mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking soda and salt.
• Using an electric mixer, beat the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar in a large mixing bowl until light and fluffy, about 2 minutes.
• Mix in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.
• Mix in the cocoa powder gradually until well combined.
• Incorporate the flour mixture until just combined.
• Incorporate the chocolate chips.
• Drop the dough by rounded tablespoons onto parchment-lined baking sheets.
• Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the edges are firm but the centres are still soft.
• Allow to cool for 5 minutes on the baking sheets before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
