Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar in a large mixing bowl until light and fluffy.
  • Beat in the eggs one at a time, beating thoroughly after each addition.
  • Incorporate the vanilla extract.
  • In a separate mixing bowl, combine the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda and salt.
  • Stir the dry ingredients into the butter mixture gradually until just combined.
  • Incorporate the chocolate chips.
  • Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto parchment-lined baking sheets.
  • Top each cookie with a few sea salt flakes.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are firm but the centres are still soft.
  • Allow the cookies to cool for 5 minutes on the baking sheets before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
