Frosted Ginger Cookies Recipe

These frosted ginger cookies are the ideal blend of sweet and spicy. The ginger, cinnamon, and cloves add a warm, cosy flavor, and the frosting adds a sweet touch. They're perfect for holiday baking or as a tasty treat any time of year.

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Whisk together the flour, ginger, baking soda, cinnamon, cloves and salt in a medium mixing bowl.
  • In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Incorporate the egg and molasses.
  • Add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture gradually, mixing until just combined.
  • Roll the dough into 1-inch balls and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, 2 inches apart.
  • 10-12 minutes, or until lightly golden brown and set.
  • Allow the cookies to cool for 5 minutes on the baking sheet before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
  • To make the frosting, whisk together the powdered sugar and milk in a small bowl.
  • Drizzle the frosting over the cooled cookies and set aside until ready to serve.
