  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (175 degrees Celsius).
  • Cream together the butter, brown sugar, and white sugar in a large mixing bowl until light and fluffy.
  • One at a time, beat in the eggs, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  • Whisk together the flour, baking soda and salt in a separate bowl.
  • Stir the dry ingredients into the butter mixture until just combined.
  • Incorporate the oats.
  • Place rounded tablespoons of dough on ungreased baking sheets, about 2 inches apart.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the top is lightly golden brown.
  • Allow the cookies to cool for 5 minutes on the baking sheet before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
