Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  • Cream the butter and sugar together in a large mixing bowl until light and fluffy.
  • Incorporate the eggs and vanilla extract.
  • Whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt in a separate bowl.
  • Add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture in a slow, steady stream until just combined.
  • Divide the dough into three equal parts.
  • One portion should be red, one should be green, and the third should be left uncolored.
  • Roll each portion into a long, thin rope and place it on a floured surface next to each other.
  • Gently press and twist the ropes together to create a swirled effect.
  • Cut the dough into 1/2-inch slices with a sharp knife and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Preheat the oven to 12-15 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
